Ok! My first Currently! I've been wanting to link up and do this since July when I really got into blogging. Unfortunately, I don't have Power Point on my home computer ,which is where I usually do all my blogging from. But since I do at school I decided to struggle through today and figure this thing out! And only 19 minutes later, I have my very first Currently. Now to go link up HERE with Farley and follow the three rules. Happy Friday everyone!

Congrats on your first currently. Never heard of Sitton Spelling. What is it about?
ReplyDeleteSitton does not have traditional lists that you study from for the week and then take a test on Friday only to never go back to those words again. Instead it takes words that are commonly used by ( in my case) 2nd graders in reading and writing and makes those the words that they practice spelling. They see the words over and over. They do have a weekly test but instead of studying all the words they create a list at home of words they have missed to study. There are also different phonics type lessons throughout the week. There are take home activities that tie into one of the weekly concepts. ( Last week it was using wh, ch, th, and sh and realizing that those 2 letters came together to make one sound and then using those sounds to create words.) The phonics lessons are not bogged down by coding macrons or breves. I'm not explaining everything it entails because I am still figuring it out myself. But I love it and would recommend ANYONE look into it.

ReplyDeleteWoo hoo for your first currently!! I was just thinking today about how I don't even look at the Christmas stuff out in craft stores yet because I am too excited about Halloween! But after Halloween, I'm sure that will be all I think about as well!! Looovee this time of year!

DeleteI use the website pixlr.com to do the Currently. Just click on "Advanced," import the image into the site, type in your text, then save it to your computer as a .png and upload onto your site. Not sure if it's easier than PPT or not, but you could try it when you don't have PPT :)
